Its a blue grape also called Picutener, Chiavennasca and Spanna in other parts of Italy. Nebbiolo is a complex grape to grow which prefers limestone soil with a special ratio of clay and sand (Only at Piedmont, Italy). The grape needs a very long period to mature and enough sun during this period to ripen. Nebbiolo wines are characterized by their ample amounts of acidity and tannin making a full-bodied and complex wines. Taste notes: ripe strawberries, licorice, tobacco, chocolate, roses, asian spices.
